¿Como Saben Que Son Las Pupusas?
Miracles y'all
The Talavera Branch continues to be an absolute powerhouse. So many new people to teach have showed up, and they were all found during our efforts to just serve the people we already know. This branch is the most missionary-minded group of members I've ever met.
Elder Sharp keeps telling me not to get used to it.
People!
Our new friend Jenny came to church! She's pretty shy but loved the sacrament meeting and the people of the branch!
Silvia, the branch president's wife, introduced us to her niece and her two kids who just moved here to Spain two weeks ago! They're obviously very connected already to the branch, but meeting everyone else has been great for them!
Thiago has been really busy the last few weeks but we finally got to visit him again! The uncle he lives with talks a lot but definitely listens when we teach. We taught them the first half of the Plan of Salvation and invited Thiago to church next week!
Paulino was one of the first people I met in Talavera. He left to work in Madrid for a while, so we've done a few lessons over video call, but it's just not the same. Luckily he comes back next week! Elder Rasolo signed a Book of Mormon for him so I'll need to deliver that. Paulino's crazy smart and a really good friend so we're pumped for him to come back.
Food
Whenever we meet someone new and find out where they're from, Elder Sharp is ready to talk about their country's best food. Some El Salvadoreños in the branch want to make pupusas with us, we tried making arepas to show off to Colombians and Venezuelans, and we're doing our best to get some Peruvians to show us how to make ceviche. Food brings people together y'all.
Spiritual thought
Ether 12:27
"27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them"
God isn't frustrated with our imperfections, but He does want to see us overcome them. He knows that when things are hard and we need Him, we have more incentive to accept His guidance and love. I promise you all that if you take your struggles to God, He won't take them away but he will help you in your efforts to overcome them.
Have a great week!
Elder Curtis

1. Arepas (just the corn circles) I'm willing to bet that like most things they're better if you eat them with good meat.
