Mop

Feels like it's been a while, since our P-day got moved last week. Totally worth it though, Tenerife is a cool island. I would 100% go back there as a tourist one day. We came back this week, which meant that we came back to the leaking chapel roof. It's pretty constant but we've got an elaborate containment system (like seven buckets) and some mitigation strategies (we just mop the wet floor twice a day) The building people have been nice about it and even shut the water off for sacrament meeting yesterday. So we'll keep patiently mopping. We've unfortunately lost almost all of our hope for one of our old friends... we stopped teaching her about a transfer ago, but Efigenia set us up a lesson this week. Unfortunately, it mostly consisted of her asking us to show her where baptisms for the dead are condoned in the Bible and not understanding us when we did. It was pretty sad because we've put a lot of work into helping her and she still believes we were sent by ...

Surprise, It's Me!

Writing from Tenerife rn, we had zone conference yesterday, zone P-day today, and are singing in stake conference tomorrow as a zone. It's been pretty cool. This week was pretty slow, and leaving Lanzarote on Thursday definitely didn't help. But stuff is rolling on Lanzarote. We had a lesson with José, who just got baptized, and talked about enduring to the end. His next step is going to be receiving the Aaronic Priesthood, so we talked about that for a bit too because we want to help him prep. Something we talked about was that preparing to receive the priesthood wasn't just about memorizing the sacrament prayers, but rather understanding the importance of the authority of God. Fact of the matter is, the Aaronic Priesthood isn't just a rank in a church, or some level program for young men, but a divine commission that, while absent for a long time, has been restored to the earth by celestial messengers for the fulfillment of God's work in the last days. And really ...

Here Is Your Son... Now Get In There And Grind

I was not expecting to become a father. What's good y'all, greetings from Lasagna  xxx Sorry, Lanzarote. This week has been nuts all over the mission, because we got 27 new missionaries. That means that during transfers on Tuesday, 30 missionaries got recalled to Madrid from all over the mission to become trainers. (The three extras come from a few training trios) We got so many at once because the Spanish government has been really slow about giving out visas for a while, but all at once a huge chunk of the visa waiters came though.  When transfer news came though I got the news that one of them would be my new comp, but I figured I'd get one that had finished his training on reassignment in the States. Not so, the one and only Elder Romrell spent a quick transfer in Texas and got shipped off here. All these new missionaries have been traveling so much and they were so worn out lol. Let's hope the mission lets them settle down for a few transfers.  Anyway we're her...

Haga Frio O Haga Calor...

...Fuerteventura es lo mejor! -Zenón Fragiel It's been a ridiculously busy P-day, so this will be pretty quick. Transfer news - no longer pulling double-island duty. We saw this coming, since 27 visa-waiters come into the mission this week. Elder Nelson is staying on Fuerteventura permanently and getting a new comp, and I'm heading to Lanzarote permanently with one of the visa waiters. It's not technically a new area since I've been serving there part time for 4 months, but it'll be weird to have all my stuff over there, since we normally live out of a small suitcase on that island. It'll be a great way to show someone what Spain has to offer. It does also mean I have to head back to Madrid to pick him up and have trainer meetings so that's going to take a huge bite out of our week.  But we'll arrive in Lanzarote in time for José's baptism! The whole ward over there will he happy to have full-time missionaries there.  I said a lot of goodbyes at chur...
