Quick Report

I know I just wrote y'all on Thanksgiving, here's a 4-day update: Zone conference was fire, my comp gave a great training with a ZL from another zone on daily review, which is basically the missionary version of daily repentance. We got to see all the missionaries from both Madrid zones, and had an awesome ZLC to plan the transfer for ours. I live the people I serve with here. Saturday and Sunday we did everything we could to connect with and uplift the people we're teaching. We had a cool ward activity with a message about our talents and how we use and develop them. Sunday we didn't have as many people at church as usual but we had a quick lesson with our friend Paula and started setting everything up with her baptismal date!  Today we just spent P-day in Sol (think Madrid Manhattan) with our district and we're ready for another great week! Grateful For The Flow

Happy Thanksgiving!  Lots has been going on since I wrote last P-day, and I still feel like I haven't stopped moving. I love when being a missionary keeps you on your toes. From the top: Spent a few more days in Carabanchel. The trio was probably one of the funniest companionships I've ever been in. And the entire district are definitely my great friends now. On a wild note, two hermanas in that district came to the mission with me and headed home this week. Time on the mission is insane. We had some cool moments and lessons before the trio ended and then I got Elder Nebeker from the north. He's been on the mission about the same time I have and we're ready for a fire transfer! He also speaks Spanish with a Spaniard/Argentina accent as opposed to my Latino/Dominican/Canario so we can reach a wide audience. We've had some great lessons so far!  We've only had a few days in the area but they've gone pretty well. I picked him up on Friday night, we had some les...

One More Trio Week

Image
Trio limbo is almost over, and I'm borh happy and sad about it. I love working with Elders Gubler and Simmons but I also want my area back. We got transfer news on Saturday and I'm getting a new comp in Alcorcón next week! Elder Nebeker is coming down from the north and we're about to run it up!  *missionary flick snaps* This week was cool, and we ran two exchanges. Trio exchanges are wack but since our trio has two areas, I just took another missionary back to Alcorcón and got to work my area for a whole day for once, while my comps took the other one and trioed up back in Carabanchel. It's perfect. So I got to street contact and have lessons in the place I'm supposed to be with Elder Scott on Tuesday and Elder Jacobs on Saturday. It'll be nice to get back to work there permanently. In a lot of our lessons it's been hard to keep people on track, since people like to talk and don't quite get what we're here to do. It becomes especially problematic wh...

Trio Time

Just left the Spain Madrid North mission 2nd annual East vs West Zone Turkey Bowl, so this will be pretty quick. Here's the week. Elder Harvath wrapped up the mission and headed home this week, we had a ton of farewell visits. On the 31st we had a ward kareoke activity and we discovered that our ward has a ton of hidden talent. And we had tons of farewell meals. Then I packed one of my suitcases and moved semi-permanently into the area of the Madrid 9th ward in Carabanchel to trio with Elders Gubler and Simmons for the next two weeks. We work in Carabanchel constantly but hop on a quick train to Alcorcón whenever I have lessons or other commitments. We're really doing the teaching for two areas, just not the finding. It's not ideal but it's really fun, this has been a really busy and unique week. I'll do this for another week and a half and I'll get a new comp.  Started teaching: A couple from Colombia who want to get closer to God while they get set up here. Th...
