One More Trio Week
Trio limbo is almost over, and I'm borh happy and sad about it. I love working with Elders Gubler and Simmons but I also want my area back. We got transfer news on Saturday and I'm getting a new comp in Alcorcón next week! Elder Nebeker is coming down from the north and we're about to run it up!
*missionary flick snaps*
This week was cool, and we ran two exchanges. Trio exchanges are wack but since our trio has two areas, I just took another missionary back to Alcorcón and got to work my area for a whole day for once, while my comps took the other one and trioed up back in Carabanchel. It's perfect. So I got to street contact and have lessons in the place I'm supposed to be with Elder Scott on Tuesday and Elder Jacobs on Saturday. It'll be nice to get back to work there permanently.
In a lot of our lessons it's been hard to keep people on track, since people like to talk and don't quite get what we're here to do. It becomes especially problematic when people want to "chat about the word of God" and then won't keep commitments like coming to church. But it's been helpful to remember that we're here to help people learn correct principles, build faith in them, and let that faith lead to action, and though those actions develop as children of God and disciples of Christ. That's our Heavenly Father's model of progress!
Speaking of progress...we had 11 non-members visiting sacrament meeting in Alcorcón on Sunday! Some were . invited by us, some who turned up even though I didn't remind them, and even a family of four invited by our ward mission leader! And most of the 11 have lessons planned with us this week. Alcorcón is blessed.
Slice of life
-Mate (mah-tay) is a Argentinan drink which is hot water over some special leaves. Tons of missionaries drink it all the time, but in my considered opinion it tastes like dirt. However my trio members are both serious materos so I've been giving it a shot for a few weeks. Still tastes like dirt but it's growing on me.
- Found a $2.50 kebab shop. Total steal
-Made better spaghetti carbonara than my brother Will did last week in the Canada Edmonton mission
Little of everything over here. Have a great week!
