Transfer Coming Up

Hey yall how's it going?

The end of this transfer has been nuts. Elder Rasolo is finishing his mission so that makes everything feel like the end when really not much is changing for me. Speaking of which-

Transfer news! Turns out I'll stay here in Talavera, and my new comp Elder Sharp will come here and complete my training. I'll have to teach him about Talavera for a week or two, so I've been prepping to "lead" the area. Elder Rasolo, of course, is getting transferred back to Belgium and his next comp might take a while to get to him, but his next companion will be what we like to call an eternal companion. :)

As for the work this week-

We had another exchange in Fuenlabrada, and got to go to district council in person which was cool. I love our district, and we're lucky the transfer won't change it much. We're of course losing Elder Rasolo, and Elder Stewart is getting taken out of Mostoles. Beyond that the district will be the same so I'm pretty happy! We had all you can eat Domino's after the council, which was fire. (You know this week was busy when a two-day exchange barely makes the wrap-up)

Back in Talavera, we had a few cool successes this week!

-I've had a lot more conversations in Spanish with much better comprehension and a bit more personal connection. I know that the gift of tongues is real and that I'm being strengthened to do this work.

-We have a few young adults who it is often difficult to set appointments with because of their busy schedules but we invited a few of them (Jesús, Tony, and Ricardo) to a lesson at the same time and they came together! We taught a great lesson on the Plan of Salvation and I felt like they listened and learned from not just us but also each other! These are the best and they are a lot more likely to meet with us if they can come together. They also wanted to say goodbye to Elder Rasolo. That got us a lot of appointments this week, so we milked it for all it was worth.

-Seeing the people of the Talavera Branch say heartfelt goodbyes to Elder Rasolo was awesome, and we have tons of farewell pictures of him with these people he has served for months. It's really cool to see how much they care about each other.

-Found the number of a less active member named Juana, which is now in the hands of her daughter Cecilia. Juana has had some health challenges so we offered to give her a blessing. While talking with them, we felt that Cecilia had both a desire to support her mother in the church and a bit of desire herself. We'll try to meet with them again, and I'm pretty hopeful for them! It was also cool to anoint in Spanish and listen to Elder Rasolo give her a blessing.

-By Elder Rasolo's count, Adelina has handed out hundreds of cards with the missionaries' phone number on them, and yesterday we finally received a call from someone she contacted! Jenny seems really interested, and have an appointment for Tuesday! I honestly can't wait!

This transfer has been busy and I've learned a lot, and I can't wait for the next one! Talk to you all next week!
