Had a pretty busy P-day so this will probably be a bit short. Sorry yall!
The branch organized an activity where all the members brought food and music from their countries of origin, and tons of people came, including a really tough less-active family. Plus tons of great members and people we're teaching invited their friends! Jenny brought her whole family, Jesús brought his brother, who doesnt look much like him but talks exactly the same. It was awesome but packed. The Talavera Branch needs more space, so we're working on that right now. See photos.
And we performed some Christian rap to represent the US. Video on the link below.
We're also preparing a few recent converts for the priesthood and temple work, and are going with the mission to do baptisms with Thiago this coming Thursday!
We actually started the week with a really fun exchange in Valladolid. Those Elders are a lot of fun but we also had some really cool experiences. One that I really want to share is that the father of a family they're teaching, Caesar, requested that we give him a blessing of health and asked Elder Jones to perform the anointing and me to bless. It wasn't my first time giving a blessing or even my first time doing it in Spanish but the Spirit was crazy strong and I had exactly the words I know God wanted to say to him. It was really powerful.
This morning I finished reading Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage. If you like reading history books and the scriptures then it's for you. If not, no worries, because what's important is the importance of the Savior of the World. Elder Talmage talks about how the calendar system, a lot of modern philosophy and government, and even useless stuff like swearing was influenced by the life and mission of the Son of God. Even people who don't believe in His divinity have their lives affected by His in physical, temporal ways. And everyone who ever lived or will live has been given the gift of His Atonement and sacrifice for us.
This is definitely the latest I've ever sent an email out lol,
Elder Curtis
