I Could Have Written Like 3 Different Titles But This One Should work

What's good yall? Here's whats new with the people of Talavera:

Thiago got baptized! Took a lot of prep work but it was all worth it. The guy's a legend. Pumped to know that he's made the decision to follow Christ. This guy has lived in Talavera about as long as I have and has been taught by missionaries most of the time, and has now made this life changing covenant. Its amazing to be here to witness it. Plus, it was his birthday the day before.

Almost as cool, his uncle came to watch! Tío Joaquin has listened to a few of Thiago's lessons, and joked after seeing the font that he'd be next, so we're going to visit him this week to see how much he's picked up and if he wants to learn more.

Ricardo came back from Chile, so we got to talk to him again on Wednesday during an exchange (more on that later) even left him with a chunk of 3 Nephi to read. That was Wednesday, and I found out today they finally made a Book of Mormon video on these chapters, so give that a watch if you can.

We're keeping it up with Milena and her kids, they do listen to us and seem to be understanding the gospel, even when Johnny D (Juan Diego) and a-veces-Batman (David) have strange and obscure questions that sidetrack us from the lesson. The more we can apply the gospel to their lives, today, right now, the more they'll see what blessings can come from the covenant path. They also watched at least one session of general conference, so I'm hopeful that they learned something.

Speaking of, Conference was awesome. Because of the time difference only 3 sessions are watchable at convenient times but it was awesome to see. In the days leading up to it, it was amazing to share the truth that there is a living prophet today. As a missionary I've gained a greater appreciation for this amazing truth. Something interesting about teaching and sharing is that it gives you a greater understanding and appreciation for a topic or truth. It's been said that you don't truly understand something if you can't explain it simply and from the beginning. On this topic, I'd like to challenge each of you in your study of the gospel to take a principle you're trying to understand and share it with someone else. It could be to someone who already knows and understands or someone who can learn it for the first time. I know that as you teach or share with someone else, both of your knowledge will increase.

Slice of life:
Exchange with our new district leader and his comp (missionary slang of the week: "district monkey"), Elder Spiesman and Elder Jones. We blitzed Talavera so that Elder Spiesman could interview Thiago for baptism. Having four Elders is always a good time.

Did I mention Thiago's birthday was the day before his baptism? The branch NDH that night was awesome.

Ate a rabbit leg. They eat rabbit here. Tastes like chicken but rabbits are too small to have slices or anything so it's always right off the bone. The box of rabbit we bought had the face in it too. I wish I had a picture. Next time.

Y'all enjoy the pictures and have a great week!

The idea is that with Faith in Christ, we can put in our Dilligence and be Patient as we wait for his help.
