Fuerteventura Again

2-island life be like: Had a cool exchange on Tuesday with the zone leaders, and Elder Nelson found like ten really cool people on the streets, and had Isa's friend Dolores visit one of her lessons and decide she wants in too. Legendary. So naturally that all happened like one day before we had to switch islands again. WhatsApp makes it a little easier to stay in touch, and the mission fasted for the missionaries waiting on visas last week so that situations like this can get resolved, but it's still complicated.

It's okay though, because Fuerteventura needed us too. We had a good lesson with Carmen and tried to invite her grandkids to participate, read the Book of Mormon, and pray about it. I'm hopeful, they're cool kids.

We also ran into Luca, an Italian guy we met through José, fake immigration police and real P-day specialist. We were just street contacting and started talking. We decided to bring him along with us while we talked to people, but explained so many little things that we eventually just stopped in the street and taught him the first lesson. In the next few days, we taught him in the church, mixed and matched principles from basically all the lessons, got him an Italian Book of Mormon, watched hin buy and subsequenty  and found a cool park to work out at together. He's awesome.

To get real for a sec, our whole district has been having trouble getting people to keep commitments, but we talked about a concept called the "efforts cloud". Missionary work isn't like a convenient box machine where what you put in tue slot immediately translates into what you get out. Your results don't always match your efforts, because people are complicated and even if you invite someone perfectly, they don't always accept. The idea is to keep putting your absolute best into the slot on the  "efforts cloud", and if something comes out, cool. If not, keep putting in your absolute best, and see what happens. God's timing and plans are perfect.
