RIP Area Book

Lots of stuff going on...

Many of you will probably get emails from other missionaries explaining this but there's a new edition of Preach My Gospel and they overhauled our planning app to match it. It's red now! A lot of stuff has just been updated for the way missionary work is done nowadays, and it's a cool sign that the work is being hastened and that the Church is being led by a living prophet. Go watch his video explaining the new PMG, it's pretty cool.

We had P-day, district council, and exchanges with the elders from Lugo to kicking off last week, and I got to work with Elder Monteiro again. I took him on his first exchange back during his training in the islands and now he's a district leader. During DC he really showed that he knows how to take care of the missionaries he serves with and help them be able to accomplish their purpose, bringing out the best in them the way Christ did. Love that guy. And we had some interesting stretched contacts and lessons, so all in all a great exchange.

Had some great first lessons where we could teach the Restoration, it's just awesome to find people who are willing to sit down and listen while we explain about one of the most important things to ever happen. The Restoration was a show of God's love, easily the second largest, after the coming of the Savior.

We found the records of a part member family on the outskirts of Áviles, so we decided to streett contact our way there. We found some cool people, but after a while we got far away enough from the center of the city that there wasn't really anyone to talk to. Suddenly a guy in a car flagged us down, introduced himself as Carlos, a member on vacation, and offered to give us a lift. Saved us a ton of time, and while we found out the family had moved, we were able to get into the building and knock some doors. When God sends you a ride, you gotta work hard where it takes you.

Had the opportunity to give some priesthood blessings to people I barely knew this week, but the Spirit is what matters in those situations. Elder Monteiro also gave blessings to a few sisters in our district during our exchange, and it was clear that he was being led to say what needed to be said. These were powerful experiences and my testimony of the Holy Ghost and the power of priesthood blessings have been strengthened a lot.

Slice of Life
I've earned the nickname "the Curtinator" because Elder Tapia will be the third missionary who finishes his mission as my comp. I send them off to a better place lol. After this transfer I'll only have two ex-comps who are still on the mission.

Got haircuts and Elder Tapia practically shaved his head. Hermana (or maybe President) Eastland is going to kill him.

Cooking adventures- Made some tortilla de patatas (has nothing to do with Mexican tortillas) while doing funny Madrid accents and lisping every 's'
Taught Elder Tapia how to say "sweetened condensed milk" in English.

That's about what I got for you guys, hope the week is great!
