"Fools Mock, But They Shall Mourn"

-Ether 12:26

The Book of Mormon musical has arrived to Spain. Several confused members have seen the ads and thought they were real missionaries... I'm almost offended, I've seen the trailer for the musical in Spanish and really hope no one thinks I'm anything like those clowns. We may need to do what they did in London and storm the theater with the restored gospel. I guess it is getting the word out. Maybe we should learn some of their songs and use them in door approaches. It's mostly just hilarious.

Lots of interesting stuff this week:

-Last P-day we had the Segovia elders over for an exchange and went to Sol, basically the Manhattan of Madrid. They've got some cool statues of apostles there by the royal palace, and Peter's is even holding a big key, representing the priesthood authority and keys that Christ gave him back in the day. If only we knew where that key is today...

-On an *entirely unrelated* note, general conference was awesome! I don't want to steal anyone's "think celestial" jokes but everyone should do it. It works, I'm sure we'll see that in the coming months. Something that struck me was how many of this conference's talks I'm going to be able to just invite people to watch to explain gospel principles from the missionary lessons.

A few examples: (I only have half of my notes with me right now so there's definitely more. If you noticed any more shoot me an email)
Elder Renlund- baptism, baptismal covenant, sacrament, endure to the end
Elder Oaks- Final Judgement, kingdoms of glory, Salvation and exaltation
Elder Ballard- Joseph Smith: prophet of the Restoration
Sister Amy A Wright - endure to the end, gospel living and learning in families
Elder Eyring - personal revelation, the Holy Ghost

I plan to text one of these to several people we're teaching as preparation or follow-up on a lesson. The pure doctrine they teach, presented in relatable ways by representatives of Jesus Christ, will back up what we teach.

-We invited several people to watch conference, and they did. Some of them we aren't even teaching yet, so that'll change soon.

I'm glad conference was so great because the rest of the week was tough. It really seems like no one wants to set return appointments, and when they do want to set them they don't want to show up. There's definitely something we can be doing better, we're going to go out and find what it is.

-Angela's birthday was this week, so she took us to Tierra (fake Spanish Chipotle) where her daughter works so we could celebrate with her family and a few member friends of hers. And she's decided it's now official, I'm the Gringo Dominicano. Ya tú sabes.

-I plastered copies of our new English class ad all over Facebook, and they're doing pretty well. One of them got a grand total of 3 likes! And only 2 of them were my mom and my aunt!

...I really need to get better at Facebook work. Mom, Aunt Helen, the effort is appreciated.

But the other ones *actually* did well and we got some new students! I love teaching English class, but this week we're bringing in a spiritual thought and we'll see if we can change their lives in a higher, holier way.

-Transfer news dropped: our district got shaken up but Elder Harvath and I are staying right here. We really thought we'd be getting a trio since he's leaving midway through next transfer. That didn't happen. Neither he nor I (nor President Eastland, as it turns out) knows what'll happen. Maybe its time for me to violate D+C 42:6. Keep staying tuned!

I hope you guys have a great week! Can't wait for the conference transcripts to drop! Don't ever forget how much of a blessing it is that our Lord speaks to us though His servants!

-Elder Curtis

-They called these Arizona dogs so I had to get them. Actually really good, just barbecue sauce and crunchy onion.
-Transfer predictions
-Conference pics
-Members and friends 10 minutes after the Lord spoke to us all though His servants
-Last district pic right as I was calling a referral lol
-Pa Q Moncho makes the best arepas I've ever eaten. I told the owner he has the loyalty of the gringos forever.
